Should’ve seen the one that got away. =)

We went to my mom’s for mothers day recently and she pulled out some old photographs. I asked her to let me borrow this one.

This was at an aligator farm just outside of Daytona Beach Florida. Thats my younger brother Tab (he’s a minister now and he thinks I’m a heathen, lost , sinner ūüėõ ) with me. I was 15 then and Tab was 8. My older brother was 18 then and had just started working some job so he wasn’t along for this trip. ¬†On our way home from the beach Tab and I spotted to sign for¬†Alligator¬†farm and begged my dad to stop. Hmmm I wonder if holding a live alligator was a sign of being manic lol.

Every summer we went to the beach usually Panama City or Destin Beach Fla since they are on the west side of Florida but this year or I should say that year my dad wanted to go to Daytona Beach. He said his father used to take him there every summer when he was a kid. So it was about 3 or 4 more hours of driving but to Daytona we went. Daytona is the only beach I’ve ever been to where you’re allow to drive your vehicles directly onto the beach near the ocean. Also it was a wilder more adult atmosphere than I had seen at other¬†Florida¬†beaches. There were topless bars in plain site and people smoking ¬†joints all around. The cars blaring music sorta gave a it rock concert atmosphere. They had this almost Coney Island like park area right by the beach. It was sorta old and a bit jaded but the rides still worked and I remember Tab and I had gone exploring on our own and we rode the big ferris wheel and few other rides and then we rode the high wire cars that are way up in the air and moved or hovered over parts of the park and beach area. ¬†Tab and I were in the high wire cars and I was looking at all the girls laying out on the beach and I saw these two who were probably college girls as they were¬†definitely¬†older than me and were about 25 feet away as I was up in the air still. As we made eye contact I grinned and waved. What happened next made my day. Heck made my vacation. One of them blew me a kiss and then¬†proceeded¬†to open her top and flash me. WoW. I never saw her again but I always remember that. ¬†Oh yea¬†I also got my name airbrushed on a tshirt I got there. ūüôā

Sunday Night Recaps and my Reviews

Mad Men was horrible tonight. Worst episode ever IMO. I always looked forward to Sunday nights for a number of shows. Tonight Mad Men Jumped the Shark. ¬†Joan and the ad agency basically whored themselves out to land the Jaquar account. The characters on the show have always been dogs in their personal lives but they were kick ass on Madison Avenue. I rooted for their firm against their fierce ad agency competitors. One of the bigwigs from Jaquar Motors wanted to fuck Joan and went out of his way to imply it would make him happy as the competition for Jaquar’s account went on. I wanted to see Joan and the guys to tell Jaquar hell no. You hire us based our our kick ass firm’s talent or kiss our ass and goodbye. Well Don did say hell no, thank you Don, but the others reluctantly said well if Joan is ok with it, well then ok. Then I thought Joan would say hell no but she said make me a partner in the firm and I will. This all is so wrong. For so many reasons. I’ll get to why. So they pitch to Jaquar. Don makes the pitch not knowing the “whoring pimp out deal” had already happened because he had told them not to even consider that. So Don makes the ad pitch thinking they could win the account on talent alone. I mean they always do. Well cut to the next day now. Jaquar calls and they won the account over the competing ad agencies. Yes Joan did fuck the Jaquar dude. So for the rest of..forever they will have to wonder did they really win the account or was it helped out and won with pussy? I bet the rumor will reach the competition before long too who will never let it go or be forgotten. Joan is promoted to partner which she deserved for her own merit and hard work for 13 years but the entire firm will say behind her back that she didn’t earn it or deserve but that she got it from laying on her back. The thing is she did deserve it and the firm earned Jaquar’s business but they destroyed their own credibility by going along with this. I’m so pissed at this show now.

The Killing was really good tonight. We had already found out that detective Sarah Linden had a past mental break down years back and even spent a month in a psych ward. Tonight we see her back in pysch ward not because she had a break down or anything like it but because some powerful people had knocked her out and had her placed there because she was asking too many questions in her investigation. Her partner isnt able to get her out so he calls her fiance Felder who is only on the show every now and then and not much has been said about him except he wants to marry her and take her away from all this. He is portrayed by Callum Keith Rennie aka a cylone. Actually there are three BSG people on this show. /Applause. He is always dressed like a blue collar guy but I never really knew what his profession was until tonight. He walks in the psych ward hospital shows his credentials that he is Dr Felder her former doctor and he will check her out now into his care. Wow so her fiance is like her former psychiatrist or psychologist. Very cool. It looks like they are getting very close to solving Rosie’s murder and the new skepital police chief is being swayed to believe in them. Good show tonight.

Too tired to type another paragraph but Game of Thrones was really awesome tonight. War, Ships, Storming the Castle, beheading, betrayal, boobs and I’ll probably write more tomorrow. Really good show tonight. GoT rocks.

Iron Chef

I cooked a full course meal for my family tonight. It’s something I haven’t done in a while. Normally I just cook the one meat and that’s it and let Wendy make a salad or a side like rice to go with it. I got my inner Racheal Ray today though. I marinated Pork Chops at 5am this morning. Yes I was still up but hey that’s my life. I got the pork out and the dry rub and massaged it into the chops and tin foiled them up. Tonight I pan seared them with a little olive oil and butter, splash of worchester sauce and minced garlic. I wanted to go all old school and not use the microwave so I got all several more pots, pans and boilers. I made yellow saffron rice, green english peas, and grilled onions. I added a little chicken stock and a little butter to the green peas for seasoning and of course salt and pepper to all. I also made a gravy sauce for the chops. I added some of the onions chopped fine and bits of the pork to the gravy. In the end I was very proud of my accomplishment and the family raved over my home cooked cuisine.

BON APPETIT!

Justice for Brian Banks

To the Stumpers, Speechers, Preachers, Walkers, Talkers and Marchers who only show up when and for what they want to I want to ask you this: Where is the justice for Brian Banks?

I hurt all over for this guy. I read this yesterday and couldn’t stop thinking about Brian Banks since then. I’m almost at a loss of words about this. I will edit and add some later.

Million NAMI March

I think if you asked most people what diversity means in hollywood casting or most companies or for that matter just life, most people would say it means people of color, women and the LGBT community. What they too often miss, the neglected groups that don’t get equal and fair recognition of diversity status are the ADA, NAMI, bipolars, schizophrenics and thousands and thousands other people of disabilities.

Class Acts all the way

Congrats Phillip for winning American Idol. I feel so much hometown pride. Big, huge congrats to Jessica too. Jessica I wish I could give you a big hug. It could have gone either way. It was so evenly matched unlike any Idol finals ever. Neither of you was better than the other but you both were better than any Idol winner in a long, long time. ¬†I know that Jessica will go on to great fame and fortune. Make millions selling her songs and maybe become her generation’s Whitney Houston. Like Whitney, she has that charisma, star quality to be in the movies as well. Phil and Jess congrats to you both.
